Later, the currency notes with Rs. 1,000, Rs. 5,000 and Rs.10,000 were reintroduced in the year 1954 which were demonetized again in January 1978. Again, currency notes with Rs. 1,000 were reintroduced in November 2000. Now, it is the highest denomination of Indian currency.
